Janelle McNease Rogers went to heaven March 14, 2012. She was born on May 28, 1922 in Sunflower County, MS, but was raised in Lucedale, MS. She met and married Woody M. Rogers after his return from WW II in 1946, and they built their home in Laurel. Jan and Woody were married for 63 years. They had one daughter, Anne K. Rogers, who now lives with her husband in Gautier. Jan was a Christian and a cherished wife and mother. She loved to cook, work with her flowers, and teach Sunday school to 2nd graders at First Baptist Church. Jan was preceded in death by her husband, infant baby Michael, and 3 sisters. She is survived by her daughter Anne, grandson David Jacks, Jan Williams Taylor niece, Anthony David Williams nephew, and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First Baptist Church Laurel's Annie Armstrong Easter offering. May God bless all her family and friends that have loved and supported her throughout these past years.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday, March 17, at First Baptist Church of Laurel with the visitation to begin at the church at 9 am Saturday. Dr. Randy Turner will officiate.
Memory Chapel of Laurel is in charge of the arrangements.
