Marsha L. Parker Smith, 62, of Ellisville, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at her residence.
Services will be held at 10 am Friday, December 3, 2010 at Memory Chapel with burial in Lake Park Hills Cemetery. Rev. Kenny McMinn and Rev. David Hagan will officiate.
Marsha was retired from the Jones County Tax Assessor’s office as an office manager, attended Strong Tower Worship Center in Ellisville, and was also very active in the Sandra Hancock Ministries. She was a volunteer at South Central Regional Medical Center, a member of the Red Hat Society and a very avid collector of Coca Cola memorabilia. She also enjoyed meeting with her 1966 graduating class of West Jones High School each month. She captured everyone’s heart with her witty and vivacious personality and enjoyed her travels to the Smokey Mountains.
She was preceded in death by her father, William C. Parker.
Survivors include her daughter, Angela Shows Dykes and husband Frank of Laurel; grandsons, Parker and Braxton Dykes both of Laurel who knew her as GeeGee; mother, Juanita Rawson Parker of Ellisville; sister, Deborah Parker Griffin and husband Larry of Ellisville; one niece, Reagan Griffin; two nephews, Russell Griffin and Ryan Griffin and wife Leighan; and two great nephews, Jackson and Wyatt Griffin.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 pm Thursday, December 2 at Memory Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
