Jo Ann Landrum

Jo Ann Douglas Landrum, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, and friend, passed away Thursday, April 21st at the age of 64 at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Born May 11, 1951 in Meridian, MS to Robert Douglas and Lillian Walker, Jo Ann spent her youth in the hills of MS before marrying her loyal husband of 45 years, Terry Landrum. Jo and Terry moved to Louisiana to raise their children. In Louisiana, Jo held fundraisers for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, coached baseball teams with her husband, learned to scuba dive, started the Girls Association of Livingston (GAL), and taught art to mentally and physically challenged individuals. Jo later went into the arts and crafts business with her mother, Lillian, opening Jo’s Country Window in Gonzales, LA. Jo and Terry made their way back to Eucutta, MS after retiring. Jo enjoyed playing with her rescued dogs and cats (especially her Chihuahua, Cookie), even rescued an orphaned fawn, painting, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Jo Ann especially loved visits from the love of her life, her granddaughter, Avery. Jo Ann is survived by her husband, Terry Landrum of Eucutta, MS; daughter, Tracey Landrum Daigrepont, son-in-law, Michael Daigrepont, and their daughter, Avery of St. Francisville, LA; son, Cacey Landrum, fiancée, DeNanci Makey and her children, Ashley, Kelly, and Chloe of Laurel, MS; a very special step-daughter, Lynn Landrum Smith and her daughters, Keely Brashier, Kaitlyn Smith, Kimberly Smith and children, Cali, Landyn, Keegan, and Skyla, all from Laurel, MS; mother, Lillian Walker, Waynesboro, MS; sister, Jeanette Budenich, Prairieville, LA; sister, Pam Mentel and husband, Adrian “88”, Kenner, LA; sister, Linda Knight, Kenner, LA; and brother, Eddie Hickman, and wife, Sharon, Lubbock, Texas; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Douglas and step mother, Dee, Waynesboro, MS; mother-in-law, Maude Landrum and father-in-law, Burl Landrum of Laurel, MS; sister, Joyce Douglas Harper; brother, Ronnie Douglas; brother-in-law, Raymond “Buddy” Budenich; and niece, Jinger Douglas. A special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Visitation at Memory Chapel, 3100 Audubon Drive, Laurel, MS, Wednesday, April 27th, 5-8 p.m. and service Thursday, April 28th, 2 p.m. at Memory Chapel followed by graveside services at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Ovett, MS.
