Katherine Elizabeth Sinclair

Katherine Elizabeth Sinclair, 23, died Friday, June 2, 2017, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. She was born in Laurel at SCRMC on May 19, 1994, and resided in Pachuta at Lake Eddins. Katherine graduated Heidelberg Academy in 2012 and was currently a student at Meridian Community College. She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, James J. “Bubba” McClain, Jr. and William “Billy” Sinclair. Survivors of Katherine include her mother, Madeline McClain Herrington (Dewayne), Stonewall; her father, William “Scott” Sinclair (Christi), Laurel; her brother, Dawson Rowell, Heidelberg; grandmothers, Dianne McClain, Myrick, Bettie Barnett, Brandon; step grandmother, Nan Sinclair, Heidelberg; aunts, Melinda McAlpin (Greg), Moselle, Stephanie Sinclair Robertson (Kyle), Laurel, Kimberly Barnett Cockrell (Jeremy), Puckett; uncles, Jay McClain (April), Sharon, Thomas Barnett, Brandon; cousins, Paxton Holder, Blake McAlpin, Blakely Cockrell, Elise Robertson; stepbrothers, Kevin Herrington, Wayne Herrington, and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also leaves behind her precious dog of 14 years, Duke, whom she adored and even celebrated his birthday every year. Katherine had numerous friends and enjoyed the simple life at Lake Eddins, where she oftentimes stated, “There is no place I’d rather be.” She was an avid fisherman and loved boating on the lake. She also loved music with a special affinity to classic rock. She loved life. Katherine’s death is a tragic one that is devastating to the family. There is a bright ray of sunshine and peace, as Katherine will live on as she has shared her organs so that others may celebrate their lives with their families. This has given Katherine’s family some solace, as one of the organs was a targeted donation that was a perfect match and has been successful. Family visitation will be held at Memory Chapel, Laurel, on Saturday night, June 10, from 5-7pm. Funeral services will be held at Memory Chapel on Sunday, June 11, at 2pm. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Myrick. Father Jeffrey Reich will officiate and Janine Beasley is the pianist. Pallbearers are: Corey Boothe, Wesley Dickerson, Jordyn Dubose, Robin Dubose, Wayne Herrington, and Weston Windham.
