Nancy June Lack

Nancy June Lack, 59, of Mize and Laurel was born April 6, 1958 in Winter Garden, FL and passed away on Wednesday August 16, 2017 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. Nancy met her maker in the same manner she lived life, determined and head strong. Nancy was preceded in death by her Father Thomas Russell Easterling, Stepmother Audrey Easterling, Stepfather TG Boyd and sister Margaret Taylor. She is survived by her faithful husband of 41 years, Steve, her daughter Adria McNeill and her husband Shannon, her son Adam Lack, her grandchildren Taylor And Josh Stevenson, Evan Walley, Julia McNeill, J. McNeill, Whitney McNeill Bruhrer, and Harper and Scarlet Lack. Her mother Oma Lee Boyd, Her sister Patty Welch and her husband Doug and brother Rusty Easterling and his wife Mary Donna and a plethora of nieces and nephews. Nancy was the second child of Russell Easterling and Oma Lee Boyd. She graduated from Mize High School in May of 1976. On July 9, 1976 she married the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Steve. 3 years later the newlywed Lacks welcomed their daughter, Adria, into the world. Adria got to enjoy the only child life for 22 months and that time all three of the Lacks welcomed the arrival of Adam. The Lacks moved from Pearl, Mississippi to Port Arthur, Texas. After a brief stint in Texas the Lacks moved back to Mississippi and settled in Laurel, where they made their hometown for more that 25 yrs. During her time in Laurel, Nancy enjoyed the more than full time job of a mom. Nancy spent most of her time caring for Adria, Adam and Steve. Once the kids got into high school, Nancy decided to go to work. She spent 3 yrs working tirelessly for the Pine Belt chapter of the Gulf Pines Girl Scout Council until she started to have serious health issues. In December of 2000 Nancy had one of her dreams came true, she finally could be called “Nanny.” Her first grandchild, Taylor Ree (Adria's) was born. As her illness progressed so did her family and her faith. In July of 2004 she became a grandmother again with the birth of Joshua (Adria's) and for the third time in June of 2006 as Evan (Adria's) arrived. In may of 2009 she was blessed again with the arrival of her fourth grandchild, Harper (Adam's) and little miss Scarlet Grace (Adam's) followed just 2yrs later in May 2011. Whitney, J and Julia joined the list when Adria married their father Shannon. Nancy’s life was filled with ups and downs but her faith in her savior stood steadfast. She met every challenge that life threw at her with a smile and the unwavering confidence that God was in control at all times. Nancy loved in life as hard as she fought. But fortunately for her, her fight is over and she is now in her new body, clothed in her robe of righteousness, kneeling at the feet of Jesus!
