Peggy "Patsy" Pauline Walters Davis

Peggy “Patsy” Pauline Walters Davis, 86, of Ellisville, died Monday, October 30, 2023, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. Her unwavering faith and assurance of going to her “heavenly home” in her final hours was a testimony that will always be treasured. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Indian Springs Baptist Church with burial to follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel. Dr. Richard Clark will officiate. Mrs. Davis, born in Jones County on October 16, 1937, graduated from Ellisville High School and retired from South Central Regional Medical Center after 26 years. She was raised and resided her entire life on property homesteaded by her grandfather, Jesse M. Walters, in 1888. She was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church for over sixty years serving on various committees. She especially enjoyed a ministry of providing dolls to ladies in nursing homes and taking flowers to home bound members. Later in life, she spent time playing games, taking trips, and visits with a very special group of friends from church that she was very fond of. She loved, and was loved by, family members and friends as she always enjoyed talking, sharing stories, and always having a genuine concern for their wellbeing. She enjoyed attending family reunions, class reunions, church events and other social gatherings. Her greatest love was spending time with immediate family, which she loved unconditionally and treasured every visit whether at home or on a trip or cruise. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Donald Warren Davis, and her parents, Milton and Peggy Todd Walters of Ellisville. She is survived by her two sons, Mike Davis and wife, Dell of Ellisville and Greg Davis and wife, Tara of Ellisville; three grandchildren, Meghan Johnson and husband Raymond, Emily Miller and husband Robert, and Graham Davis and wife Danielle; two step grandchildren, Zoey and Kassidy McMahon; and nine great grandchildren, Abigail, Charlotte, Emily, Michael, and Eleanor Johnson, and Cayden, Hayes, Hudson, and Bennett Miller; and a special cousin she referred to as her sister, Carolyn Sue Walters. Pallbearers will be Graham Davis, Robert Miller, Gary Little, Kimble Holifield, Steve Rosser and Greg Holifield. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, November 3, at Indian Springs Baptist Church.
