Rev. Harold Collette Ishee

On Tuesday, December 26, Rev. Harold Collette Ishee passed away two weeks before reaching his ninety-fifth birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Evie Ishee, nine siblings (Lamar, Eula Mae, Ollie Glenn, Nora Jewel, Olivia, James, Clara, J.Q., Floyceil and Masel.) Also preceding him in death were his wife of forty-four years, Caroleen Windham Ishee; his wife of twenty years, Dot Hurst Ishee; and his wife of five years, Ann Windham Ishee. Rev. Ishee is survived by his and Caroleen’s four children, Milford Collette Ishee (Vivian), Linda Kay DuBose (Wayne), Wanda Robinson Lynch (Phil), and Larry Dan Ishee (Phyllis). He leaves behind eight grandchildren (Stephen Ishee, Karen Ishee Green, Tammy DuBose Jones, Todd DuBose, Shilloy Robinson Bates, Stacy Robinson, Shannon Ishee, and Heath Ishee), twenty-three great-grandchildren, five step children and a host of extended family. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Margaret Windham Saxon. Bro. Ishee, a graduate of Mississippi College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, pastored Plainway Baptist Church for thirty-five years. After retiring, he served as Interim Pastor of Summerland Baptist Church, First Baptist Church Sharon, Stringer Baptist Church, and Lowery Creek Baptist Church. He compassionately and consistently ministered to hundreds of families in their times of joy, as well as in times of trouble, illness, and grief while lovingly sharing his faith in Jesus Christ. Visitation will be held at Memory Chapel in Laurel, MS, on Thursday evening, December 28th, from 5 until 7. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Wayne DuBose and Rev. Ron Swindall, will be held at Plainway Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29th. Interment will take place at Enon Cemetery, Bay Springs, MS. Pallbearers are Ken Boone, Heath Ishee, Shannon Ishee, Stephen Ishee, Mike Jones, and Stacy Robinson. Honorary pallbearers are Willie Dennis, Emory Hill, Tommy Magee, Don McQueen, and Willard Rose. The family wishes to thank the staff of Magnolia Gardens and Hospice nurse Savannah Hill for their professional and caring treatment of our loved one. We sincerely thank Rev.
