Amanda Kate Sinclair Giles

Amanda Giles “Nannah”, age 77, from the Calhoun community was rescued from end-stage kidney failure by Jesus Christ our Savior at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Amanda grew up as 1 of 6 kids to Hansford Charles Sinclair and Nellie Rosalie Sinclair in the Pachuta community. Mrs. Giles spent her earlier life enjoying being with her family, working at her family business Sinclair’s Grocery/Market and playing basketball. Amanda graduated from Heidelberg High School in 1965. In her younger days, Amanda was married to Johnny Everette and had 2 children, Matt Everette and Angie Fletcher (Wayne) and 2 grandchildren that were her whole world, Kate Sinclair Fletcher, 21 and Samuel Lee Fletcher, 17. Amanda later married George Giles and spent her time enjoying Wayne County football with him and later, West Jones football to watch her grandson march in the band. Amanda was at every band competition of Samuel’s, every show choir event that her granddaughter Kate participated in as well as all college choir performances or anything her grands took part in. Amanda flew to Los Angeles, California twice to compete on the Netflix show called “Nailed it”. She was very successful in her efforts and was loved by everyone in Hollywood that met her. Amanda had tons of great friends and enjoyed playing Pokeno with many of them. She has a couple of best friends that she loved just like sisters. She also had a couple of nieces and a nephew that she absolutely adored. She loved to read, eat tomato sandwiches and watch murder mystery movies and tv shows. She was known for her great sense of humor, big beautiful smile, and her kindness and generosity. Amanda was preceded in death by both of her parents, all of her sisters and her brother, and her 1st and 2nd husband, as well as her son, Matt Everette. She is survived by her daughter, Angie Fletcher and her son-in-law, Wayne and the light of her life, her 2 grandchildren. Amanda was also survived by many step and half children that she loved like her very own, Anthony Everette (Marcy), Christy Miller (Steve), Cathy Davis, Marlon Giles and Michele Giles as well as a host of precious nieces, nephews and cousins. Amanda was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Laurel. She gave her life to Jesus at an early age and was a glowing example of what a Godly wife, mother, grandmother, and friend should be. Her legacy of cooking, kindness, patience and laughter will live on for many generations through all that knew and loved her. Visitation will be held at Memory Chapel in Laurel on Wednesday, February 12th from 5 until 7 p.m. Her life celebration service will also be at Memory Chapel on Thursday, February 13th at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at Shady Grove 1st Baptist Cemetery in Heidelberg. Brother P. J. Weeks will officiate. Pallbearers will be Dana Powell, Tony Johnson, Brad Keith , Jim McLemore, Eric Reon, and Matthew Mauldin.
