Ann B. Caraway

Ann Caraway, age 93, passed away peacefully at South Central Regional Medical Center on August 2, 2026. She was born in Paulding, MS, to Leonard and Bertha Bergin on October 4, 1932. Ann was preceded in death by her first husband Herman Blackwell and her second husband W. G. Caraway, her parents, her sister Mary Katherine Wright, and her brothers Freddie Bergin and Paul Bergin. She is survived by her children: Greg (Barbara) Caraway, Angie (Ron) Sandefur, Denny (Connie) Caraway, Linda (Bobby) Glaze, Lisa (David) Seymour, Janet (Carey) Barlow, Brenda (Roger) Glenn, and Kenny Caraway; her sister Therese Grant; her brothers Hugh (Annette) Bergin and Ray (Kittie) Bergin. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren: Ashley Ellis (Chad), Gregory Caraway (Abbey), Kyle Caraway, Bridgett Strain (Chip), Amanda Brown (Jason), Cal Caraway, Will Caraway, Brandi Birchett (Luke), Chris Glaze (Ashlan), Jon Glaze (Kaylan), Marianna Evans (Dylan), Katie Walters (Tyler), Ryan Seymour (Britany), Brandon Holley (Haley Brooke), Carolyn Barlow, Brittany Plendl (Daniel), and Brianna Glenn; as well as multiple great-grandchildren. Ann was an avid gardener and was especially proud of her yard and flowers. She loved baking cakes and was known for her “plain” pound cake and German Chocolate cake. She looked forward to any holiday family get togethers. Ann was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Laurel and enjoyed the Saturday services in her childhood church at St. Michael’s in Paulding. The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors on 3rd West at SCRMC, Jones County Nursing Home, and Forrest General Hospital 9th floor nurses and doctors for their excellent care. Visitation will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 5-7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Laurel on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 10 a.m. Father Ignacio Jimenez will officiate. Interment will be in Lake Park Hills Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gregory Caraway, Kyle Caraway, Chris Glaze, Jon Glaze, Ryan Seymour, and Brandon Holley.
