Ardis Juanita Craddock

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” – Philippians 1:21 Ardis Juanita “Nena” Craddock, age 72, of Tucker’s Crossing, Mississippi, entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS). Born on January 13, 1953, in Sumner, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Mae Ola Thomas Nowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Arnold Ray Craddock, and a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Nena was preceded in death by her mother, Mae Ola Thomas Nowell; and her siblings, Earl Nowell, Clara Becnel, Faye Whited, Bobby Nowell, Martha Nowell, and Jerry Nowell. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Nowell Byrd. She leaves behind her children: her son, George Brandon Brady (Shae); her daughters, Amanda Craddock Clark (Douglas) and Sheila Michelle Jones (Doug). She was the proud Nana, Granna, and Grandmother to her beloved grandchildren: Gracie Clark, Brayden Clark, Stella Clark, Finley Clark, Erin Collard (Bryan), Dejay Jones (Meghann), Jonathan Jones (Rachel), Hardi Cook (David Jr.), Laken Jones, and Destiny Jones. Her joy only grew with her great-grandchildren: Caleigh Jones, Anisten Jones, Andrew Jones, Chesleigh Jones, and Jensen Jones. Nena faithfully served as a nurse at South Central Regional Medical Center for over 20 years. She worked on 1st West for several years, but her true passion was found in the Intensive Care Unit, where she cared for patients with compassion, skill, and dedication. Her coworkers and patients alike remember her for her steady hands, gentle heart, and unwavering commitment to helping others in their time of need. She will be remembered for her deep love of family, her generous and kind spirit, and her steadfast faith in the Lord. She filled her home with warmth, laughter, and the kind of love that will live on through generations. In accordance with her wishes, no formal service will be held. The family would like to thank all who have shown love and support during this time, especially Cedar Place Assisted Living in Mill Creek, and St. Joseph Hospice for the care, kindness, and love they showed to Nena. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Operation Christmas Child, a ministry close to the family’s heart that shares the love of Christ with children around the world. Though her absence leaves an ache in many hearts, her family takes comfort knowing she is now at peace, rejoicing in the presence of her Savior.
