Bonnie Adams

Bonnie R. Hutson Adams, 84, of Laurel, passed away on Friday November 27, 2015 at her home in the Sharon Community around 2:15pm. Bonnie Adams was born, August 24, 1931 in Oak Grove, Louisiana. Bonnie met the love of her life, Randolph Adams and they were married January 1, 1952. After they married she worked as a clerk at Woolworth in the downtown Laurel. Bonnie later drove a school bus for the Jones County Schools while her 4 children were in school and until her 2 oldest grandchildren were in elementary school, a total of 15 years. During a period of her life when Randoph was in the military, she accepted Jesus as her Savior in North Carolina. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Sharon where she taught Youth Sunday School and worked in the Youth Department for many years. Bonnie loved to go camping, fishing, swimming at the Tallahoma Creek where she grew up and crocheting. She was an animal lover and always had cats, dogs and fish. Bonnie was preceded in death by her father Preston Hutson, mother Odessa Bass and stepfather Hubert Bass, 2 grandsons Bo and Brandon Shoemake, and 1 granddaughter Jade McLauchlin. Bonnie is survived by her beloved husband of almost 64 years, Randolph Adams of Laurel; her brother Bonzie Hutson and wife Lucile of Laurel; her children, son Randy Adams and wife Donna, son Ricky Adams and wife Delene Adams, daughter Suzy Adams and Bruce Windham, daughter Cindy Shoemake and husband Bobby; Grandchildren; Richard Adams and wife Danielle, Bryan Adams and wife Heather, Sumer Adams, Krissanna Shoemake Byrd and husband Jonathan; Great Grandchildren Bentley Butler son of Jade; Isabella Adams daughter of Bryan; Carter Adams, Allie Adams and Heighlie Frias children of Richard; Brancyn Byrd son of Krissanna; caretaker and family friend Paula Cook Rickard. Visitation will be held Monday, November 30, 2015 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in North Laurel. There will be visitation at the First Baptist Church of Sharon, 4375 Sharon Road, on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 10:00am with the Funeral Service starting at 11:00am and Burial at the First Baptist Church of Sharon Cemetery. Pallbearers; Richard Adams, Bryan Adams, David Adams, Johnny Brewer, Howard Sims, Barry Ulmer. Officiate; Brother Dan Watts. Music; Kathy Lee. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial gifts be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at First Baptist Church of Sharon or a Memorial Brick for the Prayer Garden at FBC Sharon.
