Bridget L. Lovette

Bridget Lovette, 62, was born May 2, 1962, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She passed away on October 4, 2024, at her residence in Laurel, Mississippi. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Life Church, 5021 Hwy 84 West, Laurel, MS 39443. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024. Burial will immediately follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery. Pastor Chad Landrum will officiate services. Memory Chapel Funeral Home is responsible for the arrangements. Bridget was known by many titles in her years of life: wife, mother, daughter, nana, caregiver, friend, co-worker, servant, and Christ-follower. She spent 27 years with Merchant Food Services in Hattiesburg before retiring for the first time. Then, she worked for Ellisville State School until her battle with cancer caused her to take a medical leave. Bridget was a member of Life Church in Laurel, a church she loved very much and where she served faithfully for 20+ years. She is best known to those around her for her steadfast, genuine love for others. She was known to be a great listener and a person of deep prayer and faith. She loved being a mother to her two daughters and a great wife to Harold, but her favorite title was Nana. She was known for her spoiling mentality. She lived her last few years in a great effort to see her “babies,” as she called them, grow and move to the following stages of their lives. She and Harold would make annual trips to Montana to see the grandbabies and spend time attending their big moments. She loved giving and getting hugs from all her grandbabies. She was known to have a spirit of adoption, as she would often refer to children as her grandbabies who weren’t and adults as uncles or aunts who weren’t blood-related. But blood was never the requirement to be family; only a requirement of a desire to be loved and cared for. Her father, John Lewis, and sister, Meryl Jacobs, preceded her in death. She is survived by Harold Lovette, her husband of thirty-nine years; her daughters, Brinkley Landrum (Chad) and Larissa Lambert (Jeffery); her grandchildren, Carter Landrum, Carsyn Landrum, and Carrington Landrum; her sisters, Judy Fry, Pamela George-Smith, and Ann Lewis; and her mom, Audrey Lewis. Pallbearers are Shuan Lovett, Donnie Lovett, Frankie Blalock, Earl McAndrews, Justin Rodgers, and Richard Davis.
