Christine Alice Jefcoats O'Flynn

Christine Alice Jefcoats O’Flynn passed away at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Ms. On November 1, 2013. She was surrounded by her family. Christine had suffered Alzheimer’s disease since 2010. She was 85 years old. Funeral services will be at 10:00AM Monday November 1, 2013 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel. Rev. Eddie Bryant and Rev. Robby Webb will officiate. Burial will be in Union Line Cemetery in Jones County. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Sunday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, which is in charge of the arrangements. Christine was born on December 26, 1927 in Meridian, Mississippi to Samuel Jones and Florence Breedlove Jones. As young child, she moved to Sharon community and attended Sharon School. On December 11, 1944 Christine married General Delton Jefcoats. They had three children. Christine and Delton owned and operated Jefcoats Beauty and Barber shop for 51 years. They loved hosting church activities in their home, having picnics with their children, and taking family vacations. Christine was a devout Christian serving in all the local churches that she attended; the last begin Tuckers Crossing Baptist Church. She loved serving God and was a Wonderful Example of Christ as a servant. Christine enjoyed cooking and serving guests in her home. She always had enough food no matter how many people stopped by. She enjoyed cooking meals for the elderly and gardening, especially her flowers. Although she was not a nurse, she made room for or took care of many sick relatives. Her hands were always busy, even when she was sitting. Many people have quilts or quilt tops that Christine made. She loved giving her quilts and quilt tops as gifts or just to say thank you. After Delton passed away, she married Patrick O’Flynn on May 3, 1998. While married to Pat, they enjoyed planting vegetable garden, working in their yard, attending both of their churches and visiting the sick. Christine was preceded in death by her first husband General Delton Jefcoats, her parents, Samuel Jones and Florence Breedlove Jones, 6 brothers and 3 sisters She is survived by her husband, Patrick Gregory O’Flynn, Her son, David Jefcoats and his wife LeeAllen of Laurel, Daughters, Peggy Harvison, and husband Hilton (Fats) of McKinney, Texas and Carolyn Henderson, and husband Phil of Laurel. Her grandchildren Kim King (Daryl), Thad Beard (Randi), Candace Webb (Robby), Amanda Foster (Troy), and Jeffery Henderson. She had 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by Pat’s two children ,Jann Sher-O’Flynn and her husband Mark, Gregory O’Flynn and wife Lynn. Four grandchildren Melissa O’Flynn-Senat (Jean), Aimee O’Flynn Paus (Kevin), Brandon Gregory O’Flynn, and Kelsey Rose O’Flynn. Two great grandchildren all of Florida. They would also like to thank Ann Shorts Personal Care Home for the love and care they gave to Christine for the last 18 months of her live.
