Craig Lee Loomis

Craig Lee Loomis went to his Heavenly Home in the early hours of August 4th, 2023. He passed at home where he lived with his sister Dena and brother-in-law Robbie Graham of Ocean Springs. Craig was born May 17th, 1960 to Dena Almeda Loomis and John Raymond Wellman Sr. of Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Craig was preceded in death by his mother Dena A Russell of Sandersville, Mississippi and his father John Raymond Wellman Sr. of Mount Pleasant, his maternal grandparents Dena Ida and Ernest Daniel Loomis of Weidman, his paternal grandparents Lucille Lee Kirk Wellman of Michigan and his grandfather Escalon of West Virginia, his uncle Manly of Pennsylvania, his aunt Betty of Michigan, Otis Monroe and Junior Loomis of Michigan. He is survived by one aunt Velma Harkins of Michigan, his sister Dena Kay Graham of Ocean Springs, brother Johnny Raymond Wellman Jr. of Myrick, brother Patrick C. Russell (Rhonda) of Sandersville, and his stepfather Donald A. Russell of Myrick, Mississippi. Craig had seven nieces and nephews Russell Lee Graham (Jessica) of Sutherland, Dena Charity Graham (Steven) of D’Iberville, Kimberly Diane Holifield (Tyler) of Ellisville, Elizabeth Kay-Lynn Cox (Ricky) of Ocean Springs, Patrick D. Russell of Laurel, Bob Russell (Jamie) of Heidelberg, and Ryan Smith (Tiffany) of Laurel. Craig had 17 great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew Elijah Jason Graham. He also had many cousins across the USA. Craig had many medals in the Special Olympics baseball, track, bowling, and tractor pulls. His hobbies include swimming, fishing, boating, racing, playing the drums, going to Mardi Gras parades, spending his time with friends and family. His favorite thing to do was watch his absolute favorite show, The Dukes of Hazzard. Craig worked at Mid Laurel Industries doing pallets and sorting silverware and such as that. Craig passed August 4th 2023, he beat covid and beat double pneumonia twice. The staph infection that you got from the leads on your pacemaker was more than you could handle. Your little body just couldn't handle it anymore. A million times we have cried and we needed that smile of yours and yours alone. We love you. If love could have kept you here you would still be here with us. Your body may be gone but your heart will never leave us. A graveside service will be held at Double Church Cemetery in Smith County at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. Pallbearers will be Patrick Russell, Robbie Graham, Bob Russell, Jesse Graham, Ryan Smith, James Robbie Lee West. The honorary pallbearers will be Tyner and Jason Knotts, Ricky Lane Cox III, Russell Lee Graham, Patrick Donald Russell, Bryce and Caden Purvis. We, the family, would love to thank all of the special people that helped us be able to put Craig to rest beside his mother.
