Dorothy (Dot) Welborn Campbell November 25, 1925 – August 11, 2016 Dorothy Helen Welborn Campbell was known by many names, Granny Dot, Old Lady Campbell, Mrs. Dot, Shady Grove Matriarch, Dot Dot, Bible Teacher, Soloist, and the list goes on. She loved all the titles and earned every one of them. Mother’s favorite song, Just a Little Talk with Jesus, was her life motto. She believed that just a little talk with Jesus would make all things right. Her prayer was for all to come to know Him as their Savior and Friend. She witnessed to all who met her and has led others to Christ through her testimony. A passenger on her school bus in the sixties came to her a few years ago seeking salvation telling her she was the only one he knew who could help him come to know Jesus as she knew Him. She did share with him and now they are in heaven together. Bible Study and praying were things she considered a must daily. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Campbell; parents, Henry Bell and Ruth Welborn; brothers, Wayne, Glenn, and H. B. Welborn; two sisters, Troy Bustin and Ethel Lee Hunt; and a grandson, Jimmy Walker. She is survived by her children, Janice and Ernest Walker, Judy and Ken Cox, Nita and Robert Jefcoat, and Don and Delores Hunt; grandchildren, Bryan and Ambur Aten, Michael and Wynde Walker, Sonny Jefcoat, and Jenny Boisseau. Her great grandchildren are Jessie and Marisa Aten, Wyatt and Joci Jefcoat, and Campbell, Brantley and Beckett Boisseau; and sister-in-law, Sue Dayton. If you would like you may bring a flower of your choice to lay on her favorite quilt which will cover the casket. She requested you not spend money on flowers for her funeral but give flowers or an act of kindness to someone that can enjoy them. If you ever ate at her table and enjoyed fellowship with her you are considered an honorary pallbearer. Pallbearers will be Jeff Dayton, Ken Campbell, Danny Avera, Brock Avera, Randy McWhorter, Kevin McLain, David Davis, and Jeff Hopkins. Officiating the service will be Rev. Sidney Davis, Rev. Danny Pitts, and Rev. Don Brown. Visitation will begin at 12 noon Sunday, August 14, at Memory Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
