Dorothy Morris Warren

A native of Laurel, Dorothy Morris Warren, 97, a resident of Comfort Care, died on June 28, 2015. The graveside funeral service for Dorothy Warren will be at Lake Park Hills Cemetery on Thursday, July 2, at 3 o’clock p.m. Visitation will be held at Memory Chapel from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. before proceeding to the grave site. The Reverend Sidney L. Leak will officiate. Mrs. Warren was a partner and appraiser with her husband of Richard B. Warren Realtors, Inc. A graduate of Laurel schools, she pursued further education at Bowling Green School of Business, Bowling Green University, in Kentucky. After serving in several capacities, Laurel Board of Realtors named her Realtor of the Year. Throughout her life, she was an active member of the First-Trinity Presbyterian Church. Her many services included serving as a Sunday School teacher, a Junior and Senior Youth Group leader, den mother for the Cub Scouts, Moderator of the Women of the Church, an Elder, and on many session committees. Continuing her outreach, Mrs. Warren served on the Salvation Army Board for many years and was awarded a life member. She particularly enjoyed working with community clubs and churches who helped her with the Salvation Army’s Christmas stocking program, which numbered into the hundreds. She continued this work into her nineties. Commending her active participation in the community, the YWMC, and her church, Mrs. Warren was honored with the DIANA Award. The joy of her life was her family. Affectionately known to her family as Dot, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. Foster (Libba) of Mission Viejo, CA and her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Richard B. Warren, Jr. (Virginia) of Jackson; five grandchildren: Mr. Richard Todd Warren and Mrs. Kerk Merhle (Elizabeth) of Jackson, Mrs. Cash Mather (Suzanna) of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Kurt Summers (Pryor) of Laguna Niguel and Mrs. Scott Berg (Douglass) of Thousand Oaks, California, and thirteen great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Trinity Presbyterian Church, the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice. Memory Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
