Elizabeth McDaniel

Beth was an exceptionally talented quilter winning many blue ribbons. She loved sharing her talent whether it was teaching others or giving one of her creations away. If you received one of her quilts you were blessed, and she was overjoyed to share. Beth loved flowers and was deeply knowledgeable in growing them. There is always something blooming year-round in her yard. She loved having family gatherings at her home. Every year she and Billy would host the Moore Family Reunion. As ill as she was in April of 2024, she insisted on still having it. Every Christmas Eve she held her annual gathering for family and friends to visit, eat, and play her favorite game, Dirty Santa. Her passion for traveling is well known. With her being the navigator and Billy the driver they have traveled thousands of miles and at times would be gone on the road for more than a month. Her personality was decidedly quirky. You never knew what plan or idea she had in mind. Always up for an enjoyable time. She loved singing (off Key), dancing, and life, but mostly she loved GOD first and then her husband, Billy. Together for 62 years, they are a testament to staying side-side through the ups and downs. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren fiercely. She is survived by her husband, Billy McDaniel; her children, Scott (Patsy), Michelle (Henry); grandchildren, David (Brooke), Grace (Chad), Lisa, honorary -Theresa; great-grandchildren, Addison, Dante, Logan, honorary-Dakota, Jeremy (Piper), Jessalyne, Kaid; great-great grandchild, Atlas; and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Shellie Moore Thornton and John Thornton; sister, Faye; brother, George; niece Barbara; grandsons, Mac and Neal; aunt Nettie Robb; numerous friends and family. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at First Pentecostal Church, Taylorsville, MS from 9:00 am-11:00 am, with funeral service to begin at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Fellowship Cemetery. Henry Arceneaux and Jon Neal will officiate.
