Floyd Lee Pitts, a devoted family man and electrical contractor for 40 years, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, at the age of 95, surrounded by family and close friends. Floyd dedicated four decades of his life to working as an electrical contractor, building a successful business through pride in his work, precision, and integrity. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to quality workmanship, earning the trust and respect of all those he served throughout his career. Yet, his greatest source of pride was his family. He shared more than seven decades of marriage with his beloved wife, Frances Blackledge Pitts, whose unwavering support and love were the foundation of their life together. They raised three children: Floyd Dwight Pitts, Rethea Gail Pitts, and Karen Pitts Hughes. While he took great pride in his role as a husband and father, he also endured the profound pain of loss, having been preceded in death by his wife Frances, his son Dwight, and his daughter Rethea. Their memories remained forever etched in his heart, guiding him through life’s trials and triumphs. Floyd was also preceded in death by parents Donzy and Elsie Pitts; brother Herman Pitts and his wife Vivian; sister Bobbie Pitts Welborn and her husband Arnold. Beyond his professional accomplishments and devotion to family, Floyd was known for his generous spirit and warm demeanor. He valued hard work, honesty, and simple living, and loved to lend a hand or offer sage advice whenever it was needed. He will be remembered for his steady presence, practical wisdom, and the example he set through a long life marked by perseverance and dedication. Floyd Lee Pitts is survived by his daughter Karen (Kay) Hughes and her husband Steve; sister Nell Hurst and her husband Rudy; his grandchildren Chanda Brandt and her husband Kevin, Raina Clifford and her husband Mark, and Oliver Pitts along with extended family and friends who will cherish his memory and the legacy of a life well lived.
