Katrina Polen Regan

Katrina was born on February 9, 1956, in Laurel Mississippi. She passed away at her home on Palm Sunday, March 24, 2024, after a prolonged illness. She graduated from R.H. Watkins High School in Laurel and in her younger years worked at Fine Brothers, Headrick Signs, and as a teller for Deposit Guaranty Bank. Later in life, she devoted herself to being a homemaker and pastor’s wife. As pastor’s wife she never put on pretense but was the same person at church, at home, and in the community. The role of a pastor’s wife and homemaker often goes without recognition, but she cared nothing for fanfare. She much preferred to serve behind the scenes and care for others. Katrina loved Jesus. He was indeed her first love. As a child, she prayed and asked Jesus to be her Savior. As she matured, she demonstrated her love for him by serving in her church. Katrina served in many ways including working in the nursery, teaching Vacation Bible School, singing solos, and serving in the choir and ensembles to mention just a few. Katrina loved her community. For many years she supported and attended numerous community service and fundraising events including, Relay for Life, Center for Pregnancy Choices, Laurel Life Chain, National Day of Prayer, and the Jones County Baptist Association annual fair ministry. Katrina loved helping and serving people in need. She delivered groceries to needy families, cooked, and served funeral meals, prepared and delivered meals to the sick, and made countless visits alongside her husband to the sick and bereaved. Next to her love for Jesus, she loved her family most of all. Katrina (Granna) loved all her family, and she will be greatly missed by us all. Words fail to express our sense of loss as a family. However, we will be forever thankful for Katrina and the time we shared. Although grieving, we remain steadfast in the Lord’s promises and look forward to seeing her again whole in Heaven. Until that time, we will continue to love her but from a distance. Lastly, we express our deepest gratitude to Katrina’s caregivers Patty Parker and Candy Peavey. Whose loving care for her meant so much to us over the years. Also, to the hospice nurses, aides, and staff for their professionalism, care, and compassion. Survived by: Husband, Ken Regan; Children, Joel Miller (Shae), Jennifer Miller, Katelyn Regan; Sisters, Marcia Easterwood, Sarah Boody (Robert); Brother Ron Polen (Ann); Grandchildren, Emma Miller, Judah Carr; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins; and a host of friends. Preceded in death by her parents Bill and Helen Polen, brother Don Polen, niece Julie Polen, nephew Tripp Polen, and great nephew Robert Blake Robison. In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, St. Jude, or Choices Clinic of Laurel, a Christian organization that helps women facing crisis pregnancies.
