Kaye R. Carlisle

Kaye Rebecca Carlisle, of Laurel, Mississippi passed away on October 15, 2025 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on November 7, 1961, in Laurel, Mississippi to Bessie Rebecca Knight and Charles Edward Brown (“Charlie”). Kaye was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, and friend whose heart was as generous as her spirit was strong. She is survived by her husband, J.C. Carlisle, her two daughters, Amanda Kaye Carlisle and Jami Rebecca Carlisle, bonus daughter Erika Griffin, two brothers, Charles Edward Brown, Jr. (“Eddy”) and Stephen Lawrence Brown, two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Ray Carlisle and Michael Carlisle, a sister-in-law, Sylvia Carlisle, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister. Pallbearers will be Eddy Brown, Stephen Brown, Jimmy Ray Carlisle, Michael Carlisle, Jonathan Carlisle, William Carlisle, and Jacob Carlisle. Throughout her life, Kaye poured her heart into caring for others. She spent most of her career working with children, a calling that reflected her boundless patience and compassion. When she wasn’t nurturing the children she worked with, she found her greatest joy in raising her two daughters, whom she loved beyond measure. If you knew Kaye, you knew she always spoke her mind and always thought of others first. She had a way of showing up exactly when you needed her most to listen, lend a hand, give some hard advice, or share a laugh. Her kindness and honesty left an impression on everyone who crossed her path. Kaye’s love for life showed in everything she did. She spent many years volunteering at various churches with her friends. She was known for her famous pecan pie and other desserts. Kaye also enjoyed gardening, quilting, and crafting. There wasn’t much she couldn’t make or fix with her own two hands. Kaye touched countless lives with her generosity, creativity, and love. Her legacy will live on through the people she cared for, the beauty she created, and the memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who were lucky enough to know her. Visitation and the service will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, Mississippi on Saturday, October 18th. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am and the service will start at 11:00 am.
