Michael Shawn Fowler

Michael Shawn Fowler, age 37, of Laurel Mississippi, passed away on September 18, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport Mississippi. Michael was born on October 3, 1985, to Sheryl Elizabeth Bryant, also of Laurel Mississippi. After graduation from Northeast Jones High School in 2004, Michael continued his education and received an associate degree from Jones County Junior College. Prior to his sudden death, Michael worked for Headrick Signs & Graphics, in Laurel Mississippi. He was promoted over the years to Headrick Digital Design Supervisor. Michael loved to spend his spare time with his two children: Liam and Fiona Fowler. They were his world and his main purpose for living. He had a strong passion for music and played with various bands during and after high school. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Elizabeth (Libby) Hutchinson and maternal grandfather Roger Hutchinson, great grandmother Louetta Miles (Nanny), paternal grandparents Buford and Bobbie Fowler, and uncle Robert Ray Fowler. He is survived by his son Liam Fowler, daughter Fiona Fowler, his mother Sheryl Bryant (Alan), his father Roger Fowler, brothers Brandon Johnson (Sara), Christopher Fowler (Trista), and Shaun Fowler, and sister Courtney Odom (William). He is also survived by his nephews Benjamin “Benji” Johnson, Hunter Odom, Jackson Fowler, and niece Mia Johnson, grandmother Elsie Hutchinson, and a host of other family members consisting of uncles, aunts, and cousins. Visitation will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, located at 3100 Audubon Dr., Laurel, MS on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM following a family viewing at 4:30 PM. On Thursday, September 21, 2023, service will be held at Antioch United Methodist Church, at 845 Lower Myrick Rd., Laurel, MS from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with graveside immediately following. All friends and family are welcome, and the immediate family looks forward to your visit to celebrate the life of Michael Shawn Fowler.
