Ollie Dean Knight

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ollie Dean Knight, who left this world on Thursday, October 5th, 2023 at the age of 91. She was a shining beacon of love, warmth, and kindness to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was born on Monday, August 15th, 1932 and was a lifelong resident of Jones County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Winston Washington Knight, parents Annah Mae Pitts Ishee and Asburn Montgomery Ishee, daughter-in-law, Teresa Knight, daughter Joanne Dykes, son Kenneth Knight and grandchildren Jennifer Nadean Dykes, Michael Dale Dykes and Kimberly Renee Dykes. Dean was a true matriarch, whose love for her family knew no bounds. Her unconditional love and unwavering support formed the foundation upon which our family stood. Her nurturing presence and boundless affection created a home where love resided and laughter echoed through the halls. One of Dean's greatest passions was gardening. She had a green thumb and could make any flower bloom with her tender care. The vibrant colors and sweet fragrances of her garden were a testament to her love for life and beauty. She found solace in the quiet moments spent among her plants, a reflection of the peace she brought to those around her. In addition to her love for gardening, Dean had a deep affection for animals, particularly dogs and cats. Her home was a haven for furry friends, and she dedicated countless hours to their care and happiness. Her gentle touch and loving heart made her a cherished companion to all creatures great and small. The kitchen was another domain where Dean showcased her boundless love. She had a culinary prowess that was unmatched, and her holiday dinners were legendary. The tantalizing aromas and delicious flavors of her meals were a testament to the love she poured into her cooking. Every gathering was transformed into a feast, and every meal became a cherished memory. But perhaps Dean's most remarkable quality was her ability to connect with others. She never met a stranger, and her genuine kindness and infectious smile could brighten even the darkest of days. Her warm embrace and welcoming spirit made everyone feel like a part of her extended family. Dean is survived by her son, Jimmy Knight, grandchildren Winston Q. Knight, Carolyn Knight, Kevin Knight, and great-grandchildren Winston H. Knight and Austin Strickland. Services will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Hebron Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Corey Vermilyea will officiate.
