Pamela Rae Darden-Bridges

Pamela Rae Darden-Bridges, age 60, of Laurel, MS, passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2024 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Pamela was a graduate of Ventura High School (Class of ‘82) and later at IBC (International Bible College) in San Antonio, Texas with a Bachelors Degree in Music. She was a member of First-Trinity Presbyterian Church of Laurel where her husband, Rev. Dr. Parry Bridges is pastor. Pamela loved music and working with children. She was a music teacher-instructor at The Music Academy in Ventura, Ca. for 20 years and also served as a music director and worship leader in various churches and ministries in California and Alabama. She led choirs through outreach ministries like Teen Challenge of Southern California and led Sunday School and Youth programs during her lifelong ministry. Pamela’s greatest love was to her Savior, Jesus and closely followed by genuine love for her whole family (children, grandchildren, brother, aunts and uncles, cousins, and husband). In her presence and beyond, it was clear you could count on her support, unconditional love, and fervent prayers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Juanita Darden, her aunts (Aunt Marie Howard and Aunt Betty Meyer), Uncle John Howard, Uncle Earl Meyer, and cousin Larry Meyer. Pamela is survived by the following: husband, Parry Bridges of Laurel, MS., brother, Michael (Laura and daughter - Melody LaTour) Darden of Ventura, CA., daughters, Amber (Allen) Huerta and Crystal (husband, Richie and grandchildren Carter and Chloe Kerr of Smith Station, Alabama, AshLeigh Bridges (grandson - Alex Goodman), and son, Parrish M. Bridges (Yovanna) of Laredo, Texas. She is also survived by her cousin, Jimmie Cheryl (Bob) Johnson of Nampa, Idaho, and their daughters Darcy Jolif and Lacey Beayrd. Additionally, she is survived by uncle Howard Norwood, Betty Meyer, cousin Missy Meyer (Bob) Sieber, cousin, Jeff Meyer, Steve Howard, Leilani Howard, Melissa Ellison, and many other extended family members, all of whom she loved very much. A service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Pamela Bridges will be held at First-Trinity Presbyterian Church of Laurel, MS on August 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM with visitation and reception to follow in the Kirk House. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Teen Challenge Ministries (teenchallenge.org) of Ventura, CA., an organization close to Pamela’s heart.
