Roy Anderson Herrin

Roy Herrin, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2025, in Laurel, Mississippi, at the age of 30. Born on January 17, 1995, in Jasper, Texas, Roy was a source of joy and inspiration for all who knew him. Roy was the cherished son of Romanda Herrin and the late Jessie Herrin Sr. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth and Roy Dry, and uncles Troy and Jonathan Dry, who welcomed him into eternal rest with open arms. Despite the pain of his loss, he leaves behind a legacy of love that will be carried on by those he held dear. Roy is survived by his loving wife, Julianna Herrin, whom he married in September of 2017 at the Jesus Name Home church. Together they created a beautiful life and family, raising their adoring children, Rachel and Elijah Herrin, who were the light of his life. He was a dedicated son to Romanda Herrin, who nurtured his spirit and instilled in him the values of love, compassion, and resilience. As a brother, Roy was a guiding presence for his siblings: Alex Herrin, Diana Herrin, Leann Herrin, and Amanda Herrington. He treasured his relationships with them, always there to offer support and laughter. In addition to his immediate family, Roy was a proud uncle to his nephew, Dillan Collier, and his nieces, Faith Lightsey and Caroline Herrington. He took immense joy in his role as an uncle, showering his nieces and nephew with affection and attention. Roy's educational journey included his graduation from the Youth Challenge Academy, which marked the beginning of his path toward a fulfilling life. He was known for his adventurous spirit; he loved fishing and spending time outdoors, where he found peace and happiness. Roy's passion for nature was evident in all he did, and he cherished the moments spent in the company of his family and friends in the great outdoors. The funeral service for Roy will be held at Memorial Gardens on March 13, 2025, at 3:00 PM. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Roy are invited to celebrate his life and legacy. As we mourn the loss of Roy, we also celebrate the many wonderful memories he created throughout his life. His laughter, kindness, and unwavering love will remain in our hearts forever. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to guide us, reminding us to cherish every moment and to love each other fiercely. Rest in peace, dear Roy. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
