Ruth Delores Pitts

Ruth Delores Robinson Pitts, 75 of Ellisville, MS went home to be with The Lord on Friday, December 26, 2014 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Ellisville with Rev. Roy Crouch and her grandson Rev. David Ruffin officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014, from 9:00-11:00 am at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, with funeral services and burial immediately following visitation. Mrs. Pitts was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished all four children, ten grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She also adored her fur-babies, Bella and Daisy Mae. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and served many years before retiring from Roses in Laurel. Mrs. Pitts loved God and always could be found humming her favorite hymns everywhere she went. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Minnie Robinson. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Edward Earl Pitts, Ellisville, daughter Sarah Speed (Mitchell), Ellisville, daughter Ruth Gatlin, Ellisville, son Thomas Pitts (Charlotte), Laurel, and daughter Mary Parker (Bo), Ellisville, grandchildren Amanda Gatlin Holifield (Brian), Michelle Speed Blancett (Heath), David Ruffin, Stefanie Gatlin Merryman (Phillip), LeeAnne Speed McDonald (Cody), Olivia Pitts, Megan Ruffin Cook (Tyler), Keri Ruffin, Sean Ruffin, Abbey Pitts, and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jenna and Jacey Holifield, Benjamin Freeman, Carter Blancett, Hannah Klaire and Hutson Merryman, brothers, Carrol Robinson, Laurel, and Harrol Robinson (Dianne), New Hebron, sisters, Arlene Temple (Jimmie), Ellisville, and Sybil Haden, Petal, and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include Brian Holifield, Phillip Merryman, Sean Ruffin, Clark Robinson, Heath Blancett, Cody McDonald, Tyler Cook, Stephen and Taylor Sprouse. The family of Mrs. Pitts would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kimberly Dobbs, Dr. David Harrison, Bridget Burnham, RN, and the staff at SCRMC who provided excellent care for our loved one.
