Samuel Douglas Armour

Samuel Douglas Armour, 72, of Laurel passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 with his wife and children by his side. A Graveside Service will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Rev. Scott Davis will officiate. Mr. Armour was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years. He was stationed in a total of six different states and overseas tours included Japan, Viet Nam and the Philippines. He received many medals and accommodations during his twenty years of service to his country. His interests were family, fishing, hunting, carpentry and mechanics. He loved playing guitar and singing country music with his many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Buel Armour; step-father, Dale Hollingsworth; mother, Essie Hollingsworth; brother, James Harlan Armour; infant nephew, Baron Armour, and his mother-in-law, Louise Roney McPeak. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judith McPeak Armour; two sons: Tracy Douglas Armour and his wife Karen of Hattiesburg, MS, and Stephen Armour of Atlanta, GA; two daughters: Kim Armour Carr and her husband Jim Carr of Wilmer, AL, and Courtney Armour of Laurel, MS; sister, Leah Estep and her husband Michael Estep of Salem, OR; brothers-in-law, Charles McPeak and John McPeak of Laurel, MS; grandchildren: Kristy McGinnis of St. Joseph, MO, Douglas Armour of Laurel, MS, Denise and Barry Ankrom of Laurel, MS, and step granddaughter, Missy Carr of Laurel, MS; great grandchildren: Ethan, Kian and Serenity of St. Joseph, MO, Thad of Laurel, MS and Corbyn of Hattiesburg, MS, Riley of PA, Ryder and RaeLeigh of Laurel, MS, Kaitlyn and Kya Carr of Laurel, MS and many nieces and nephews; other close family: Brenda Armour, Edna Weaver, Gwen Tolar and his beloved pets: Khloe and Kady. Pallbearers will be John McPeak, Barry Ankrom, Jim Carr, Andy Tolar, Tracy Armour, and Stephen Armour. The Armour Family would like to thank Dr. Shannon Penland and our Hospice Angels, Mallory and Julie for their wonderful care of our loved one.
