Sarah Braddock

Sarah Louise Adams Braddock, age 91, of Laurel, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Arabella Health and Wellness in Butler, Alabama. Sarah was born on June 19, 1933 in Gilbertown, Alabama to Walter and Belma (Mozingo) Adams. She learned the value of hard work at an early age. She attended school in Gilbertown before she married and moved to Stonewall, Mississippi where she worked at Burlington Industries. After working at the cotton mill, she went home to care for her family as a full-time homemaker. Sarah was a loving mother to her three children, Brenda, Mike, and Darin. In addition to her own children, she had a hand in raising multiple other special family members and friends. She had a true, nurturing nature about her and was a mother figure to many. Sarah also had a special love for horses and watching family members participate in horse shows. Her favorite pastime was hooking up the camper and going to Archusa with her brothers and sisters. She was a member of Abundant Life Worship Center in Sandersville, Mississippi. Sarah is survived by her daughter, Brenda Lewis Breland, of Leaksville, MS; son, Kenneth Michael “Mike” Lewis (Janet), of Butler, AL; son, Rufus “Darin” Braddock (Nancy) of Laurel, MS; grandchildren, Kevin Herrington (Pam), Eddie Herrington (Kim), Christie Green (Gavin), Justin Lewis (Tara), David Skinner (Becky), Brian Skinner, Steven Braddock, and Aaron Braddock; great-grandchildren, Anthony Herrington, Ashley Hodges, Adam Oden, Dhillon Creech, Ken Herrington, Greg Herrington, Breanna Green, Jarred Green, Kaleb Lewis, Sarah Beth Lewis, and Henry Todd Skinner; 11 great-great grandchildren; 1 great-great-great grandchild; brother Ferry Adams (Carole), brother Gary Adams (Brenda); sisters-in-laws Laverne Adams and Edna Ruth Adams, and a host of other loved ones. Sarah was preceded in death by her husband R.H. “Cowboy” Braddock; parents, Walter and Belma Adams; step-daughter, Shirley Braddock; brothers, David Adams, and Robert Earl Adams; sister, Bobbie Jean Mosley (John Thomas); grandson, Jason Alan Lewis. A graveside service will be held at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Sandersville, Mississippi on June 6, 2025. The service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Rodney Tyson officiating. Pallbearers will be Jarred Green, Anthony Herrington, Greg Herrington, Kaleb Lewis, Brian Skinner, David Skinner, and Henry Todd Skinner.
