Louise B. Russell, age 82, of Laurel, MS passed away at her home on Monday, November 30, 2020. She was born on September 4, 1938 in Jones County, MS and led a full life with varied roles. She served as a dedicated, loving homemaker; stenographer; entrepreneur; and caregiver to many, human and animal alike. A skilled musician, she played the piano since childhood and utilized her talents at innumerable church gatherings. Those closest to her hold dear her tenacious spirit, strong religious values, and open heart to family and friends. Services will be held at Lake Congregational Methodist Church on Friday, December 4, 2020. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., and the funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the Church cemetery. Reverend Jimmy Holder will officiate. Pallbearers include Jared Russell, Cody Sanderson, Nick Russell, Trey Sanderson, and Adam Wansley. She was preceded in death by her parents, David Rupert Blue and Lillie Rustin Blue; two brothers, Doval Blue and Jerriel Blue; and her husband of 55 years, William Franklin Russell. She is survived by one brother, Wendell (Louise) Blue; one sister, Eloise (Howard) Morgan; three sons, Dwain, James, and Rusty (Teresa) Russell; one daughter, Laura (Thomas) Sanderson; a host of nieces and nephews, 13 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
