Robert Copeland Hickson, 87, passed from this life on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Jasper County Nursing Home in Bay Springs, MS. He was born in Sandersville, MS on July 16, 1934. Mr. Hickson was a member of Sandersville Baptist Church. He served in the Army as a combat engineer and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a third-degree mason and member of the Breckenridge #309 Lodge for over 50 years. Bobby loved hunting and fishing but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Mr. Hickson was preceded in death by his wife, Sophie Mae “Billie” Hickson; parents, Vennie Ann and Robert Lee Hickson; three brothers, Leonard Hickson, Howard Hickson, Charlie Hickson, and one sister, Martha Francis Leggett. He is survived by one sister, Mary Ainsworth of Sandersville; one son, Michael Wesley Hickson Sr. (Shelia) of Sandersville; three daughters, Beverly Lynn Dabbs of Sandersville, Marilyn Joyce Thornton (Marty) of Sandersville, Misty Lee Jameson (Andy) of Greenwood, SC; eight grandchildren, Chasity Goldman (Tracy) of Sandersville, MS, Angie Dyess (Brannon) of Moss, MS, Robert Cole Walker (Vanessa) of Meridian, MS, Le’Ann Allen (Duane) of Sandersville, MS, Michael Wesley Hickson Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, John Aaron Hickson of Sandersville, MS, Daniel Hickson of Sandersville, MS, Sophia Jameson of Greenwood, SC; thirteen great-grandchildren; Gavin Goldman, Allie Goldman, Daylan Dyess, Caleb Dyess, Landry Dyess, Elizabeth Allen, Victoria Allen, Mercedes Allen, Elijah Allen, Alice Allen, Cade Walker, Owen Walker, and Olivia Hickson. Graveside services will be at McGill Cemetery in Sandersville, MS on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 2PM. Reverend Wesley Page officiating. Pallbearers are Mike Hickson, John Aaron Hickson, Daniel Hickson, Cole Walker, Marty Thornton, and Steve Ainsworth. Honorary Pallbearers are Duane Allen, Ronnie Hickson, and Tom Hickson.
