Sandra Allen Grice Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sandra Allen Welch of the Sweetwater community passed away on May 27, 2022 at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. She was born on June 27, 1943 in Mobile, AL and would have been 79 on her next birthday. She married Jerry Grice on September 1, 1961, and they were married for 52 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa Lee Welch and Allen Welch (Oak Bowery); Dauline Mitchell (sister), Aaron Welch (brother); and her loving husband, Jerry Grice, who passed away in 2013. Sandra is survived by her two sons, Allen Wayne Grice (Kim) of Ellisville, MS and Terry Grice (Sonyia) of Moselle, MS and three daughters Lisa Phillips of Hattiesburg, MS; Malinda Black (Anthony) of Moselle, MS; and Connie Roney (Stephen) of Laurel, MS. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Sandra’s love and devotion for her grandchildren and great grandchildren were unmeasurable. She is also survived by two brothers, Donald Welch (Joyce) and Benny Joe Welch as well as one sister Diane Pickering. To all who knew her, Sandra was a loving daughter, wife, sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother. Sandra was a nurse by profession, and she dedicated her life to serving and caring for others. She was a member of Lowery Creek Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Tyler Roney (grandson), Jared Grice (grandson), Kelton Grice (grandson), Ethan Black (grandson), and serving as an honorary pallbearer, Bennett Grice (great-grandson). Graveside services will be held at the Welch-Graham cemetery on Sunday, May 29th at 2:00 p.m..
