Angelena C. Craven

Angelena Corinne Craven peacefully joined our Heavenly Father on June 10, 2021, after bravely battling Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. She was 64 years old, being one month shy of her 65th birthday on July 12, 1956. Angelena’s personality was larger than life. She never met a stranger, had a very generous heart and a kind spirit. She had a deep love and immense talent with animals and music. Angelena had a fierce love and devotion to her family and friends. She had a spirit of determination and perseverance with an unwavering faith. She was a strong, beautiful person, inside and out, full of love and light. Angelena is survived by her soulmate of 51 years and husband of 47 years, Robert D. Craven, Jr., of Laurel, MS. They were high school sweethearts and built a life and home of love and adventure together. Theirs is a love that even death cannot diminish, for they will be together again. Angelena is survived by their two children: Andy “Ryan” Craven (Leann) of Laurel, MS and Dr. Megan B. Craven (Regina Rhodes) of Biloxi, MS. She was an extremely doting, fiercely loving, readily protective mother who will forever be alive in her children’s hearts and memories. Her children are readily equipped to handle life with what she taught them. Angelena is survived by their three precious grandchildren: Wyatt, Reese and Ella Craven of Ryan and Leann Craven of Laurel, MS. These grandchildren made her eyes sparkle and heart melt. She loved them dearly for the short time she was blessed to know them. Angelena is survived by her parents, Roger L. and Mary Ellen (Haughton) Temple, of Sandersville, MS, one sister, Georgena Hudson (James) of MS Gulf Coast and numerous nieces and nephews. Angelena is preceded in death by her father-in-love, Robert D. Craven, Sr.; her beloved aunt Edna Earle Lewis, her sister, Rhonda Temple Mozingo, her grandfather, Hubert C. Haughton and a heavenly host of other family Angels to welcome her. Please join us as we celebrate the life of this beautiful person.
