Ann Ford

On August 30, 2013 Ann Armstrong Ford, of Laurel, gazed into her Lord’s eyes for the first time. She was born in Crystal Springs on July 11, 1933. She spent the last five years of her life at the home of her daughter, Jill, in Reno, NV. She grew up in Edwards, MS and moved to Laurel in 1964. She was a long-time employee of Clinton-Harrington Piano and Molloy-Seidenburg, CPA. Her life was characterized by a love for God and a love for people. She was passionately committed to the Lord Jesus. Always reading her Bible and writing in her many prayer journals, she was truly a warrior for Christ. Her love for Him was demonstrated by her love for people, especially her family. She consistently prayed for and loved her family, she was a spiritual matriarch. Her legacy of love and faith will live on through her six children, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. As she did, they will continue to love each other and love their God. She also loved her church and was deeply committed to the founding and continuation of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Laurel. She was predeceased by husband, William Meredith Ford; parents, Tom and Mildred Armstrong; brothers, Dick Armstrong, Jack Armstrong; and sister, Sally Williams. She is survived by brother, Frank Armstrong (Jean) of Corpus Christi, TX; children, Chuck Hendricks (Sandee) of Seminary, MS, Susan Shanks of Laurel, MS, Jill Hinton (Gary) of Reno, NV, Tommy Hendricks of Canton, MS, Nancy Singleton (Randy) of Enterprise, Al, and Bill Ford (Carolyn) of Laurel, MS; grandchildren, Luke Hendricks of Portland, OR, Greg Hinton of Castro Valley, CA, Julie Ann Confer (Ben) of Reno, VN, Sara Shorter and Nick Shanks of Hattiesburg, MS, Joshua Flowers (Samantha) of Ft. Polk, LA, Andrew Singleton of Enterprise, AL, and Meredith Ford of Laurel, MS; great grandchildren, Riley Ann Shorter of Hattiesburg, MS, Addison and Landon Confer of Reno, NV; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1200 MS 15, Laurel, MS 39440. Pallbearers will be Luke Hendricks, Ben Confer, Joshua Flowers, Andrew Singleton, David Holt and Nick Shanks. Visitation will be Friday, September 6, 2013, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Memory Chapel. Graveside services will begin at 9 a.m. at Lake Park Hills Cemetery on Saturday, September 7, 2013, for family and close friends. A memorial celebration will begin at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Rev. Mike Allen and Rev. Greg Hinton will officiate. Memory Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
