Betty Gregg Robinson

Betty G. Robinson, 69, of Sandersville went to be with her Lord at her residence on Friday, September 13, 2013. Funeral services will be held at Memory Chapel at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2013, with burial at Sandersville Cemetery. Officiating will be Bro. David Parker, Bro. Bud Swindall and her niece, Tara Murphy. Mrs. Robinson was a life-long resident of Jones County and a member of Faith Ministries Baptist Church. In years past, she taught Sunday school and Bible school and was a church secretary and church hostess at Sandersville Baptist Church. She was a former member of the Sandersville Women’s Club. A lover of politics, she worked the polls for over 35 years and was a past election commissioner for the town of Sandersville. Betty loved flowers and anything in nature and marveled at God’s handiwork. She was also an Avon bottle collector. She did all she could to be of help to her family and friends, never asking for anything in return. She was a homemaker and a retired hairdresser. She was a faithful wife for 53 years, a loving mother and a doting grandmother. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her life and kept her going for years without giving up from her many health issues. She was an organ donor and tried to instill the importance of organ donation to others because her younger son was an organ transplant recipient. She was preceded in death by her younger son, Duane A. Robinson; her father, Olen H. Gregg; and mother, Dorothy J. Gregg. She is survived by her husband, Curtis “Jerry” Robinson of Sandersville; one son and his wife, Don and Karen Robinson of Hattiesburg; two grandsons and their wives, Chase and Ashton Robinson of Mobile, AL and Price and Kayla Robinson of Sandersville; and one granddaughter, Chandler Robinson of Hattiesburg; two great grandchildren, Millie and Cash Robinson; two sisters, Deborah Tanner and husband Wayne of Ellisville and Gloria Green of Decatur, AL; aunts, uncles; nieces, nephews; and other family members. Pallbearers will be nephews, Jay Bullock, Brent Bullock, Seth Green, Jacob Bullock, Tanner Bullock, Mark Robinson and Wade Robinson. Donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, P. O. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time at Memory Chapel on Sunday, September 15, 2013. Memory Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
