Darrell Dale Stringer

Darrell Dale Stringer, born June 4, 1932, went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents Luver and Naomi Stringer, wife Earnestine Stringer, and sisters Elaine Brown, Evelyn Stevens, and Nancy Sanders. He will always be remembered for his complete devotion to God, his love of family, his heart of service, and his skilled craftsmanship. The love he shared with his late wife was deeply rooted in God and followed the example that God set for Christ and His church. Their love and marriage was selfless, patient, forgiving, and kind. His most cherished accomplishment in the eyes of his family is the kind of legacy he left for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served as deacon and drove the church van for bible school ministry for many years. He worked for Mississippi Power Company and volunteered for the Shady Grove Volunteer Fire Department for many years and still held a special place in his heart for all of those who worked with him. Throughout the years, he has made many beautiful pieces of furniture, swings, baby rockers, and bird houses from his woodworking shop at his home. Aside from spending time with his family, his greatest hobby was building things for other people to enjoy. His family would like to express their sincere appreciation for his sitters Lesa, Kathy, and Sheniquia, his hospice care team, and hospice nurse Savannah Hill. They have all treated him with such kindness and love, and their service to him will never be forgotten. He is survived by his children Jimmy Dale Stringer of Laurel and wife Debra, Johnny Stringer of Laurel and wife Sherry, Susan Cockrill of Laurel and husband Harvey, and Jerry Stringer of Jackson and wife Debbie. He is survived by his grandchildren Shanna Matthews, Jonathan Stringer (Maggie), Kylan Collier (Marcus), Lindsey McInnis, Melanie Glenn (Zach), Melissa Reid (Matt), Megan Evans (Bradley), and Wendy Jordan. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Kade Matthews, Kace Matthews, Kale Matthews, Molly Stringer, Slade Stringer, Noah Glenn, Natalie Glenn, Paisley Reid, John Reid, RJ Reid, Rayleigh Evans, Hannah Evans, Baker Evans, Ashlynn Little, and Keegan Collier. He is survived by his great-great grandchildren Liam Stringer, Ace Khalaf, and Juliette Little. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Stringer, Zach Glenn, Matt Reid, Bradley Evans, Marcus Collier, and Kade Matthews. Honorary pallbearers will be Kace Matthews, Kale Matthews, and Noah Glenn. Services will be Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church. Visitation will precede the service from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church.
