James Ronald "Ronny" Hill

James Ronald “Ronny” Hill, age 75, of Sandersville, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026. A lifelong resident of Sandersville, Ronny spent his 75 years building a life rooted in faith, family, hard work, friendship, and love. Ronny was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Elizabeth Hill. He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 56 years, Frances Jay Hill. Together, they built a beautiful family that Ronny treasured above all else. He is also survived by his daughters, Kristi Hill Allred (Todd) and Shai Hill Holder (Jason), whom he loved dearly; grandchildren Dawson Holder, Eli Collins, Graison Holder, Britley Allred, Ta Allred (Abbie), and DJ Allred; brothers Bill McLaurin (Beverly) and Tommy McLaurin; along with a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory. Ronny loved his “girls” and grandchildren more than life itself. His grandchildren were truly his pride and joy. Some of his happiest years were spent cheering them on from sports fields and courts, always proudly supporting them, encouraging them, and making sure they knew just how much their Pop loved them. Ronny was a lifelong member of Sandersville Baptist Church, where his faith was an important part of his life. His men’s Sunday school class brought him tremendous joy each week. He treasured the friendships he made through the church and the lifelong relationships he shared with so many in the Sandersville community. Ronny was a hardworking man who took great pride in his craft. In his early years, he worked for the Laurel Fire Department while spending his days off doing carpentry work. What began as work on the side became a lifelong calling. For more than 40 years, Ronny was a master carpenter and the owner and operator of Ronny Hill Construction, Inc. There seemed to be nothing he couldn’t build. He built many homes throughout the years, but perhaps his greatest accomplishment was the life and legacy he built for his family. Ronny’s hands were rarely still, and his heart was rarely anywhere but with the people he loved. He was a man who showed his love through his work, his presence, his loyalty, and his unwavering support. He will be remembered for his incredible craftsmanship, his strong work ethic, his devotion to his family, his faith, and the friendships he held close for a lifetime. Those who knew Ronny know that heaven gained a pretty special carpenter on August 24th. There is no doubt that he is now walking the streets of gold—with a hammer in his hand, ready to build something beautiful—and smiling down on the family he loved more than anything. His family finds comfort in knowing that this is not goodbye, but simply a “see you later.” His earthly work is finished, but the love he built into the hearts of his family and friends will remain forever. Until we meet again, Ronny. We love you more than words can say. Visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 1-2:30 p.m. followed by the service at 2:30 p.m. at Sandersville Baptist Church. Interment will be in Sandersville Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Wesley Page will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Williams, Buzz Jack, Whitney Sims, Roland Blackledge, Mark Robinson, and Rod Armstrong.
