Bryce Byrd, a young man whose spirit was as wide and untamed as the open country, passed away unexpectedly on October 18, 2025, at the age of 19, following a tragic car accident. Bryce was a true country boy through and through. He didn't just live life; he grabbed it by the horns. Tough as nails, quick-witted, and possessing a grin that could charm the paint off a fence post, Bryce made an indelible mark on everyone he met. He was the kind of person who always had a snappy comeback and a loyal heart. Bryce’s passions were loud, fast, and exciting. He had a deep love for the thrill and danger of bull riding, an activity that perfectly mirrored his daring nature. When he wasn't practicing in the chute, you could find him in his beloved truck, often with a mischievous glint in his eye, happily burning the tires out, and leaving a satisfying cloud of smoke and the unmistakable scent of rubber on the backroads he called home. He worked hard and played harder, embracing the simple, rugged joys of rural life. He leaves behind his heartbroken parents, Jeff Byrd and Chelli Byrd; his sisters, Harley Byrd and Serenity Aaron; his grandparents, Lee Byrd and Debbie Hull; great-grandmother, Jackie Pitts; uncle, Jeff Pitts; aunts and uncles, Shana & Micheal Gregg, and Donna &Wayne Pitts; cousins, Zach, Colby, and Jade Holifield, Kaylee Gregg, and Haleigh Pitts; nephew, Malcom McDonald; his girlfriend, Gracie, and her mom and dad, Cindy and Tony Miles who loved and helped him as if he was their own; along with a wide circle of friends and extended family who will miss his laugh, his energy, and his stubborn loyalty. He was preceded in death his sister, Madison Smith; great-grandparents, Wayne and Angie Byrd; grandfather, Shane Byrd; and aunt, Tasha Pitts. A memorial service to honor Bryce’s life will be a graveside service at Bethel Church, located at 10 Bill Windham Rd, Heidelberg, MS on October 24th, 2025 at 2:00 pm. The family requests that attendees consider wearing light blue and/or purple, jeans, boots, and/or cowboy hats in Bryce's honor. Bryce’s life, though brief, was lived full-throttle. May he find eternal peace on the back of the toughest bull, with a fresh set of tires waiting for him in the great beyond. We will forever miss his cowboy smile, and remember the champion of life he truly was. Rest in peace Cowboy!! Pallbearers are as follow, and are asked to wear blue jeans, nice light blue or purple button up’s, and boots. They are also asked to be at Memory Chapel Funeral Home between 12:30 and 1:00 pm on Friday. Pallbearers will be Ashton Williamson, Joseph Walker, Gavin Reeves, Hunner Harris, Brody Busby, and Tyler Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers will be Camron Edwards, Seth Boutwell, and Curtis Overstreet.
