Keith G. Welborn

Keith Graham Welborn, Sr., age 71, passed away on February 12, 2026 at home. Keith was born on September 25, 1954, in Laurel, MS, to Dorman and Bobbie Welborn. He was a graduate of West Jones High School. Keith was always a hardworking family man who had a strong relationship with God. He worked in the oilfield industry and later worked for the company, Bunny Bread. Keith enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends. Keith loved to joke around and had a happy soul. He was a joyful man. He also enjoyed getting together with a special brother “Doug Landrum” on the weekends. He would always be wondering what we were going to eat but never wanted to be the cook! Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Dorman and Bobbie Welborn, his father-in-law Jimmy Dale Henry and a special uncle, Jelly Welborn. Keith is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Shelia Welborn; children Brandi Welborn of Alabama, Keith Welborn, Jr., (Dae) of Ellisville, Jason Welborn (Elizabeth) of Mize, Kayla Long (Kaleb) of Moss Point, Harley Smith (Ashton) of Taylorsville, and Amanda Whatley of Laurel; brothers Ronny Welborn (Peggy) of Poplarville, Paul Welborn (Barbara) of Soso, and a special brother Doug Landrum (Kathy) of Stringer; grandchildren Loftin, Sara Beth, Layne, and Ada Katye Welborn, Hannah Welborn, Mattaeo (Tae) Alvarez, Zeke and Branson Long, Chance Sullivan, Banx Pack, Kenzlee Porter, Maelee Porter, Brynlee Porter and John Wayne Porter, and Spencer and James Edward Landrum, Jr.; special family Quest Lubin (Jackson), Baye Lubin (Zack), Patience Porter (Jacob), Gracie Smith (Clark), Kross Smith, and Amye Smith (Jeremie). He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church of Stringer. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, MS, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. with service at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Edon Baptist Church. Brother Alan McCord will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Loftin Welborn, Layne Welborn, Dougie Landrum, Kaleb Long, Zeke Long, Ashton Cook, Tae Alvarez, James Edward Landrum, Jacob Williams, and Stevie Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Branson Long, Sara Beth Welborn, Ada Katye Welborn, Hannah Welborn, and Sean Carney. A special thanks to Gen Hospice for the compassionate care Keith received and a special thanks to Ms. Brittany, Heather Sullivan, Ms. Laurie Malone who served as his nurses.
