Robert Stewart Musgrove

Robert Stewart Musgrove passed peacefully from this life on January 31, 2026. He was born on April 17, 1945, to R.C. Musgrove and Madge Arellano in San Diego, CA. He grew up in Las Vegas, NV. Robert joined the Navy at age 17 and served his country during the Vietnam War. He later traveled the world as a Merchant Marine at which time he learned to speak several languages. Upon his return to the U.S., he attended Jones County Junior College for HVAC. He worked many years offshore as an electrician prior to retiring from Howard Industries. Robert found joy in life’s simple pleasures; cooking, spending time with his daughter and her family, and watching the raccoons wander into his backyard for their nightly snacks. He was a gifted storyteller, known for his tall tales, long stories, and unmistakable personality. He loved hunting, fishing, reading, and collecting clocks. He was a very proud father, a silly and loving grandfather, and a devoted husband who adored and spoiled his wife, Carolyn. Together, they spent countless evenings reading books and watching football. Robert was deeply loved, and his presence will be missed more than words can say. Robert was preceded in death by his parents R.C. Musgrove and Madge Arellano; step-father Frederick Arellano; brother, Michael Arellano; and his stepson, Charles Deason Coghlan. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 28 years, Carolyn Anderson Musgrove of Ellisville; his brother, Roy (Penny) Musgrove of Overton, Nevada; his sister, Madeline (Bill) Lewis of Las Vegas, Nevada; his daughter, Kimberly Brewer (George) of Clara; and his stepson, Lance (Erin) Coghlan of Oregon. He was a proud grandfather to Megan (Christopher) Beck; Kaleb (Montana) Brewer; and Deason, Austin, and Emma Coghlan, and a cherished great-grandfather to Willa Kate and Jack Beck. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Visitation will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, Mississippi, on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 10 until 11 a.m. with service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Bro. Trey Beck will officiate. Interment will be in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kaleb Brewer, Christopher Beck, Kenny Clark, Jerry Wyatt Patterson, Lance Coghlan, and Dwayne Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Carson Graham and Mike Smith.
