Shirley Ann Wedgeworth Tisdale

Shirley Ann Wedgeworth Tisdale, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, was born on May 31, 1944, in Laurel, Mississippi, to Lem and Vermell Wedgeworth. Shirley devoted her life to the people she loved most—her family. She had a generous heart and found great joy in caring for others. She loved to cook, and she especially enjoyed shopping for a good bargain. But nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored and loved so dearly. To them, she was affectionately known as “Ernie.” Her love, laughter, and devotion to her family created memories that will be treasured for generations to come. Shirley was a member of Bethlehem Community Church. Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest Tisdale; her parents, Lem and Vermell Wedgeworth; her brothers, Gary (Alberta) Wedgeworth, Bonnie Wedgeworth, Hilman (Mary Jo) Wedgeworth, and Edward (Geneva) Wedgeworth; and nephews Kim Wedgeworth and Kevin Wedgeworth. She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory in their hearts, including her daughter, Paula Damlouji; her sons, Dwayne (Lisa) Tisdale and Mike (Amy) Tisdale; grandchildren, Anna (Chase) Goodwin, Jackson (Autym) Tisdale, Joshua Tisdale, David Tisdale, and Casen Tisdale; and great-grandchildren, Ben Goodwin, Brooks Goodwin, and Oaklynn Tisdale. She is also survived by a special niece, Stacey (Buford) Welborn and great nephew Cody Welborn; and a special nephew, Randy Wedgeworth, along with many other family members and friends who were blessed to know and love her. Shirley’s greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely to her family. Her home, her cooking, her laughter, and especially the love she poured into her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be deeply missed. Though she is no longer with them, the love she shared will continue through the generations she leaves behind. She was deeply loved, she will be greatly missed, and she will never be forgotten. Graveside services will be held Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Bethlehem Community Church Cemetery.
