William Alfred "Bill" Loving

William Alfred “Bill” Loving, 71, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 17, 2016. Bill was born in Denham Springs, Louisiana to Cleo (Schilling) and Frederick Pat Loving. After graduation from Denham Springs High School, Bill attended Louisiana State University where he majored in music. In 1968 Bill relocated to Laurel, Mississippi where he worked in broadcasting and sales at WAML Radio. Later Bill would become manager of the first soul radio station, WNSL Radio. Bill also worked part time for WLAU Radio throughout his broadcasting career. Bill served as a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the Jaycees and the Laurel Rotary Club. In the spring of 1969 Bill met his future bride, Sharon, while singing in the choir at First Presbyterian Church, Laurel, Mississippi. Bill and Sharon were married on March 14, 1970 and spent forty six years together. Bill’s love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was exhibited through his sacrificial love for his family and friends. Bill never met a stranger and his exuberant smile and laughter brought joy to those who knew him. In May, 1983, Bill and his family relocated to the Eastern Shore of Maryland (Salisbury) where Bill continued his broadcasting and sales career at WMDT Channel 47 for many years. After his tenure at WMDT, Bill developed a marketing and consulting agency utilizing his experience and expertise that would carry him through to his retirement years. Bill is preceded in death by his infant son, William Alfred “Kip” Loving, Jr., both parents, and his brothers Don, Alva Ray and Bob Loving. He is survived by his wife Sharon, his son Andy Loving and his wife Mary of Laurel, Mississippi, his daughter Donna Hale and her husband Carl of Salisbury, Maryland, his grandchildren, Danielle Hale of Olympia, Washington, Erin Hollenbach and her husband Garrett of Salisbury, Maryland, Christian Loving of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Carly Hale and Dylan Hale both of Salisbury, Maryland and one great granddaughter, Emerie Jayde Hale of Olympia, Washington. Additional survivors include his nephews, Tommy, Patrick, Mike, Steve, David and Glenn Loving, Scott Sheppard and nieces Andrea Howes Moore and Deana Howes Losoya. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1200 Highway 15 North, Laurel, Mississippi, 39441. Funeral Service will follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.
