William Hayden Hill hit the best homerun of his life when he crossed the home plate into the pearly gates of Heaven. We can only imagine the smiles exchanged on September 8, 2018, between Will and God when God said, “Well done thy good and faithful servant”. Will entered the Kingdom at a youthful age of 20, but the Lord knew his life on earth was complete. Knowing Will, he would not want us to mourn his passing, but rather cheer him on as he walks on the precious streets of gold. He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on April 24, 1998, to Tracy and Stacey (Myers) Hill of Laurel. Will was a 2016 graduate of Stringer Attendance Center. He was currently employed as a machinist at Holmac Industry in Bay Springs, MS. Will was an extraordinary young man that was well loved, witty, and just a natural born leader amongst his friends. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and he always enjoyed a good baseball game. He is survived by his parents, Tracy and Stacey Hill; brother, Anthony Hill (22); sister, Elizabeth Hill (10); grandparents, Katherine Hill, Gwendolyn and Bill Myers; aunt/uncles, Melinda Myers, Regina (Chester) Avera, Harmon (Dedra) Hill, Shane (Tracey) Hill; cousins, Christina Avera, Tyler Avera, Kenzleigh McKissick, Jackson Hill, Haley Hill, Austin Hill, and Macey Hill, and a multitude of friends that Will would consider just as family. Will was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harmon Hill, Sr. Visitation will be at Memory Chapel on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, from 5-8 p.m. for family and friends. A celebration of Will Hill’s life will take place on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Sharon with visitation at 9:00 a.m. and the funeral at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be immediately afterwards at the Sharon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Coach Wade Weathers, Coach P.J. Graham, Brett Welborn, Delayne Herrington, Reed Windham, and Mason Avary. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Stringer HS Baseball Team. If you were an acquaintance of Will, you knew that baseball and his family were his two great loves! We will always remember Will as an outgoing kid that always carried a smile on his face. He knew how to make you laugh with his witty, dry sense of humor. In honor of Will’s love of baseball, friends are welcome to come dressed in baseball attire - as a mark of respect to Will. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Will Hill Stringer Baseball Scholarship Foundation. Contributions can be brought to the celebration or dropped off at the school.
